Mepilex Border Foam Dressing minimizes pain and trauma to the wound and surrounding skin. It has been designed to create an optimal healing environment for moderate to high exuding wounds such as pressure ulcers, leg and foot ulcers, traumatic wounds, and other secondary healing wounds. The Safetac layer seals the wound edges, preventing the exudate from leaking onto the surrounding skin minimizing the risk for maceration.

  • How Meplilex Border Works:
    Mepilex Border has excellent fluid handling properties because of the following:
    - Safetac soft silicone layer minimizes horizontal leakage
    - Absorption layer ensures quick and effective absorption
    - Spreading layer spreads the exudate into the retention layer
    - Retention layer prevents exudate from being pushed back onto the skin to reducing the risk of maceration
    - Backing film is highly breathable, moisture proof and bacteria proof which protects the wound from contamination
  • Directions for Use:
    -    Gently cleanse the wound; dry surrounding skin. (Mepilex Border will not adhere to a moist surface.)
    -Choose a dressing size that will allow the adherent border to overlap the wound area by at least 2 cm
    -Remove the release film and lay absorbent foam pad over wound area. Gently smooth adherent border in place. Do not stretch
    -Mepilex Border can remain in place for up to 7 days depending on drainage and wound condition.
  • Precautions:
    -    Mepilex Border should not be used with oxidizing agents such as hypochlorite solutions or hydrogen peroxide
    -Mepilex Border should be stored in dry conditions below 35°F) and be protected from direct sunlight
    -In case of signs of clinical infection, consult a health care professional for adequate infection treatment
    -Do not use if inner package is damaged. Sterility is guaranteed if inner package is intact. Do not resterilize
