Grip-Lok Small Universal Securement Device is a catheter stabilization device which is strong enough to lock catheters securely in place, yet versatile enough for almost every patient. This Grip-Lok provides a large adhesive area that will stick to a wide range of hubs made from silicone and other plastic compounds. It is designed to provide stable suture-free securement at the catheter attachment points to prevent unnecessary pulls and improves patient care.

Application:

 

  • Prepare the skin according to the standard hospital protocol for dressing application.
  • Skin prep or hair removal may be required on some patients for better adhesion.
  • Skin must be clean and dry prior to Grip-Lok application.
    Steps:
    1. Open the top fabric over-strap and remove the inside release liner.
    2. Slide the Grip-Lok under the catheter centering the hub in the exposed base adhesive area.
    3. Secure the fabric over-strap down over the catheter and press around and on top of the catheter and lumens to firmly attach the adhesive.
    4. While holding the Grip-Lok and catheter in place with one  hand, remove the bottom release liner from one side and adhere to skin. Then remove the other bottom release liner and secure that side to skin.
    5. Grip-Lok 3601CVC can secure on the chest or neck.


Instructions:

 

 

  • Select the area for the placement of the Grip-Lok.
    Note: catheter should be already placed or inserted.
  • Prepare the skin according to the standard hospital protocol for dressing application. Skin must be clean and dry. Skin prep or hair removal may be required on some patients for better adhesion.
  • Open the top fabric flap and remove the interior liner to expose the adhesive areas.
  • Slide the Grip-Lok under the catheter hub centering it in the exposed adhesive area with the distal end of the hub extending just beyond the Grip-Lok.
  • Secure top flap over the catheter and apply firm pressure to the fabric area over the adhesive and around and in between lumens.
  • Pull the paper backing from the bottom of one side of the Grip-Lok, then the other, to secure in desired position on the skin.

Direction:

 

 

  • For added skin protection, skin prep may be used prior to application of securement device.


Notes:

 

 

  • Use of an alcohol swab will ease removal of securement device from the skin.
  • Re-use of this device may change its mechanical or biological features and may cause device failure, allergic reactions or bacterial infections.
  • Replace securement device if soiled or saturated in fluid.
